Western Specialty Contractors’ Los Angeles branch recently applied a new-to-the-market, ramp-grade deck coating in the Beverly Hills Medical Plaza parking garage.
Located at 415 N Bedford Dr. in Beverly Hills, CA, the parking structure has 268 spots for patient and visitor self-parking, offering direct elevator access to the medical and dental specialists in the plaza.
Owner WellTower hired Western in May 2025 to install Sika’s new ramp-grade deck coating over a pair of the garage’s steel ramps. Water intrusion inside storage areas below the ramps had been reported for a couple of years.
Western’s scope of work included repairing cracks and sealing all joints and perimeters throughout both ramp locations, then applying the new deck coating, which contains aggregate for an aggressive traction finish.
“Sika provided us with free material to conduct this application as it is a new product line they just introduced to the market,” said Branch Manager Chris Nguyen.
Western’s crews worked on coating one ramp at a time, which required the other ramp to be closed for the duration of the work, leading to traffic jams at the only point of access to the garage.
Western completed the project within two weeks and within budget, to the owner’s satisfaction.
