Western Specialty Contractor’s Los Angeles branch recently completed the exterior restoration of a Department of Defense medical clinic located in Port Hueneme, CA. The primary goal was to address aging building elements and ensure long-term durability.
The crew’s scope of work included restoring control joints and applying a two-coat Dowsil Allguard Silicone Elastomeric Coating around the building’s perimeter. Many corroded structural columns were exposed through interior and exterior demolition, sanded to remove existing material, and protected with a new silicone coating.
Additional improvements included caulking around all windows and door frames to ensure weatherproofing and prevent future water intrusion.
Western’s experts carefully executed work on the project to meet federal standards while maintaining the facility’s function as an active medical clinic. These repairs not only improved the building’s structural integrity and aesthetics but also extended the life of key exterior elements in a coastal environment.
